Sexual harassment/discrimination
The Gender Board also acts as a formal EVAN contact
point for alleged sexual harassment and discrimination. The Gender
Board will not ‘investigate’ alleged sexual harassment or
discrimination, as this is the responsibility of individual
institutions, and rules on discrimination and harassment may vary from
country to country. Instead, the Gender Board will act as a
confidential and sympathetic first point of contact for Fellows or
other members of the Network (male or female) who are experiencing
problems, and will be able to direct them to the appropriate Human Resources /
Personnel advisor in their institution. If a member of the Network
feels intimidated about contacting Human Resources, the Gender Board
will, as far as possible, make initial, informal and confidential
enquiries on the staff member’s behalf.
